About EV Technica
An independent editorial publication covering electric vehicle technology, battery engineering, charging infrastructure, and the EV industry.
■ Pre-launch — coverage begins at launch
What it is
EV Technica is an independent editorial publication about electric transportation — every kind of electric vehicle: cars, trucks, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and micromobility. We cover the technology — batteries, powertrains, charging, software — and the industry around it: automakers, suppliers, markets, and policy. The newsroom is organized into five desks, each with a named editor and a defined beat.
What we cover
- News: The industry desk. Daily developments, verified against documented sources before they run.
- Vehicles: Launches and announcements. Every specification recorded with its test standard and source.
- Batteries: Chemistry to manufacturing to recycling. Research stays labeled as research.
- Charging: Networks, connectors, reliability, costs. Regional pricing verified before publication.
- Engineering: How the machines work: powertrains, thermal management, software, systems.
- Companies: Automakers, startups, suppliers, operators - funding and partnerships with documented sources.
- Industry: Markets, manufacturing, supply chains, policy. The business of electric transportation.
- Reviews: The review ladder, from announcement to long-term ownership. Rungs named, never faked.
The newsroom
Five desks, five editors, one rule: every claim sourced.
Colin Mercer
EV industry & automakers
Runs the newsroom: automakers, launches, strategy, and the industry's big structural questions. Every lead story crosses his desk twice.
Diana Frost
Batteries & energy storage
Owns the battery desk: chemistry, cell manufacturing, degradation, charging curves, storage. A laboratory claim stays labeled as a laboratory claim.
Nathan Pryce
Manufacturing & supply chains
Factories, supply chains, raw materials, and the people who build the machines that build the cars.
Doug Simmons
Policy, markets & charging infrastructure
Regulation, incentives, market data, and the charging networks drivers actually depend on - compatibility verified by region, pricing verified before publication.
Jake Morrison
Consumer EVs & ownership
The driver's desk: real-world ownership, buying guidance, and what the spec sheet doesn't tell you. Never recommends equipment he can't verify.
What we are not
The newsroom is now filing: the first verified stories are on the wire. There are no invented articles, no fabricated specifications, no stock-photo stand-ins presented as reporting. When we say we drove something, we drove it. Every page says plainly what it is: the newsroom filing, the standards set, the record open.
How we work
Two sources for news. Test standards attached to every " "specification. Laboratory research labeled as research. Disclosures " "on the page. Corrections published fast and in the open. The full " 'protocol is on our How we verify ' "page.
Ownership
EV Technica is a Mastheadly Publication — part of an " "independent media group. Editorial decisions are made by the " "newsroom.
